Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT INDOOR UV TANNING
How long can I stay in the tanning bed the first
time?
This depends on your Individual and Unique Skin Type. Based on your
skin type, our professional attendants will provide a recommend
for the tanning time that is best for your skin. Your tanning time
also depends on the tanning beds that best fit your tanning needs.
How quickly can I increase my tanning time after my first session?
If you do well your first time in the tanning bed and do not experience
any redness, most of our clients are able to increase their time
by 2-3 minutes each time thereafter until reaching the maximum tan
time for that particular bed.
Which beds can I use for my first time?
First-time customers may use any level of our UV or spa equipment
that suits their needs. Based on your skin type analysis and tanning
goals, our consultants will determine your initial tan time and
tanning bed. After building a base tan, most of our members use
a combination of units to achieve the best results.
How often can I tan?
You may tan every day if you wish, as long as you wait 24 hours
between each tan. This is a manufacturer's recommendation to prevent
overexposure, and it includes outdoor tanning as well. We keep a
detailed record of your tanning history, and we will advise you
if you have not waited the full 24 hours.
PROTECTING YOUR EYES
Do I have to wear eyewear while tanning indoors?
Yes, your eyes are very sensitive to UV light and should not be
exposed while tanning. Sunglasses, towels, cotton balls, and closing
your eyes are not adequate protection in a tanning unit. UV-light
is responsible for both short and long-term injury to the eyes and
can easily be avoided by properly using FDA-certified eyewear.
ALWAYS MOISTURIZE & USE LOTION
What is the purpose of using lotion in the tanning
bed? How will it benefit me? Is it necessary?
The purpose of using a tanning accelerator/lotion is to keep your
skin moisturized and to provide you with maximum tanning results.
Dry skin reflects UV light, so if you are not using an indoor tanning
accelerator, you can lose up to 50% of your tanning session.
Can I just use a regular moisturizer or a tanning
lotion purchased from a drugstore?
To lock in moisture and enhance your tanning results, you should
always moisturize your skin following each tanning session. We recommend
our moisturizers over any drugstore-bought moisturizer, for the
added benefit of enhanced tanning ingredients.
Will using a tanning lotion increase my chance
of burning?
Since tanning lotions are designed to be used for indoor tanning,
they do not include an SPF. Using tanning lotion indoors, in a controlled
environment, allows you to maximize your tanning results while minimizing
your chances of overexposure.
What makes an accelerator tan you faster?
The indoor tanning lotions that we offer help your skin to absorb
UV light, as well as fight free-radical damage and fine lines. Our
lotions contain high quality ingredients, vitamins and nutrients
that are needed for healthy skin. REMEMBER - healthy skin tans faster,
tans darker and stays tan longer.
What can I do FOR THE BEST RESULTS AND A LONG-LASTING
TAN?
MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE. Using a high quality moisturizer
will help replenish the vitamins and nutrients that are lost during
the tanning session, keeping your skin smooth and younger looking
while helping you maintain the color that you love. Another secret:
switch your tanning lotion and boost your color with spay tanning
session every two weeks.
